Caelatura _1st series

Series of paintings on plexiglas produced in 2004 for the solo exhibition Caelatura at 47thfloor Creativity Addicted in Roma.

The latin word Caelatura means engraving.
The engraving burin is used on plexiglas plates, a surface that allows both the performance of a particular colour and the use of the engraving technique. In this numerous series (more than fourthy paintings) Drascek chooses plexiglas because of the need for light materials - in the exact sense of the specific weight - and because the boundaries of plexiglas or rather its low resistance to abrasion, is an increase of possibilities for a technical solution: the use of abrasive techniques and burin are a confirmation for this.
The line - an element that marks the works - that as an inscription on burin, assumes a value of measure in composition.
